IMAGE RESIZER

Resize an image to the dimensions you need

Change a photo, thumbnail or graphic to a useful width and height without uploading it. Keep its proportions, choose exact dimensions, or fit a large source within the AI image upscaler’s 2.5-megapixel input limit.

Choose an image to get started

JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF · up to 25 MiB, 16 megapixels and 8192 pixels per edge.

Your file stays on your device. Exports are still images; animation and original metadata are not preserved.

How to resize an image in three steps

Choose a JPEG, PNG, WebP or AVIF image up to 25 MiB, 16 megapixels and an 8192-pixel edge. Enter your target width or height. The aspect ratio is locked by default, so changing one dimension updates the other. Generate the result and download it as PNG, JPEG or WebP when your browser supports the selected encoder.

  • Read the original dimensions before choosing a smaller or larger result.
  • Keep the ratio locked for photos, logos and other subjects that should retain their shape.
  • Check the output preview and dimensions before saving the file.

Keep proportions or enter a specific width and height

A 2400 × 1600 photo resized to 1200 pixels wide becomes 1200 × 800 with its ratio locked. Unlocking the ratio lets you set both dimensions independently, which can stretch the subject. This tool resizes the full image; it does not crop the edges or add letterboxing. If you need a new composition, crop the source in an editor first.

Prepare a source that fits the AI image upscaler

Choose Fit within AI upscaler’s 2.5 MP input limit when a supported source exceeds 2.5 megapixels. The preset reduces its dimensions proportionally to fit that input limit. Download the prepared image and open it in the separate image upscaler. Check the selected AI output scale there as well: input eligibility does not guarantee that every scale fits the 16-megapixel output cap.

Match the export to your destination

PNG is useful for graphics and transparency. JPEG is often useful for photographs and uses your chosen background color where the source is transparent. WebP can retain transparency when supported by your destination. The saved image is a new still file: original EXIF metadata is not preserved, the color profile may change, and an animated source may export only its first frame. Output is limited to 16 megapixels and an 8192-pixel edge.

GOOD TO KNOW

image resizer questions and answers

Does this image resizer use AI?

No. It resamples your image to the chosen dimensions using the browser. Enlarging adds output pixels but does not run a super-resolution model. Use the separate AI image upscaler when you want to compare an AI enlargement.

Will resizing make my image file smaller?

Reducing dimensions often reduces file size, but format, quality and image content also matter. A PNG export can be larger than the original JPEG even after resizing. Check the actual output size, then use the image compressor if needed.

Can I resize an image to 1200 × 630 without distortion?

Only if the original has the same aspect ratio. Keeping the ratio locked preserves shapes but may give a different second dimension. Unlocking the ratio can stretch the image. This workspace does not crop or pad the source to a new ratio.

Can I keep a transparent background?

Choose PNG or WebP to retain transparency. JPEG does not support transparent pixels, so choose a suitable background color before exporting a JPEG.
